About Aldridge Education – The Way We Work

We are entrepreneurial and our passion for high quality, inclusive education drives our work. We encourage students, staff and members of the local community to develop a passion for learning as well as an entrepreneurial mind-set, enabling people to help take responsibility for their own futures and their neighbourhoods. Our values are the entrepreneurial attributes that we help our students to develop – creativity, passion, determination, problem-solving, risk-taking and teamwork.

We want all our schools to be ambitious and entrepreneurial – inside and outside the classroom, in strategic planning and everyday activity. This means that the emphasis on entrepreneurial thinking provides context for all the learning that takes place and every aspect of academic life.

About the Role

The Home School Learning Ambassador will work with our families and identified staff, particularly the Principal, Vice Principal and Home School Liaison Officer, to ensure that all pupils are supported jointly by both their family and the school to be successful learners both at home and at school. It is imperative that this dovetails with existing work, not replicating nor conflicting with the existing pastoral provision on offer.

The successful candidate will be an advocate for our parents, our children’s first educators, who dream that their children will have a good education and a better life.  This is why we, at Sudell, believe that education is so important; it is about levelling the playing field.  It is about turning dreams into aspiration, doing all we can to promote social mobility.  At Sudell, this is our mission.

The primary purpose of the role is to support children and families in their pursuit of the highest academic achievements. The post holder must have the ability to work with and support a wide range of people with very different needs and levels of disadvantage, responding with agility to those needs.  The post holder will be required to work flexibly on occasion.  This will involve home visits, telephone and remote support.

About the Person

We are looking for a candidate who will thrive on a challenge with a readiness to accept change, evaluate and develop practice to grow with the role, the School and the community.  They will be self-motivated with a commitment to excellence.

They will follow the Aldridge Operating Norms and seek to achieve excellence in everything they do.
