Duke's Aldridge Academy
In 2016 the Governors of Northumberland Park Community School in North London approached us to join our multi-academy trust.
Following a consultation in Spring 2017 the board took the decision to convert to academy status and Duke’s Aldridge Academy opened as the seventh school in our Trust in September 2017.
Based close to Tottenham Hotspurs’ redeveloped football ground the academy is a co-educational, multi-ethnic school for 11 – 16-year-olds. Most students are of Turkish, African, Caribbean or White European heritage with a high proportion of students speaking English as an additional language.
The academy has links with the secondary department of the Vale Special School, which shares the same site. Facilities include an on-site sports complex and swimming pool, an art block with media suite, nine computer suites, eight science laboratories, new technology and textiles workshops.
Duke’s holds Investors in People Gold status.
Northumberland Park Community School was rated Good in all categories by Ofsted in 2012 and that was confirmed again in the regulator’s inspections in 2016 and, most recently in November 2019. In August 2019 the school’s GCSE exam results showed Duke’s was above the national average for Progress 8.
The school motto is Inspire to Excel, an ethos which is transmitted through staff and governors to help students to develop their capacity and potential to exceed in their academic and social skills development in an engaging and safe learning environment.
